There is a through gap on the cutterhead along the direction of the blade, and the whittled wood chips can be transferred to the other side of the cutterhead. Blades are evenly arranged on the outer edge of the cutterhead. The airflow generated by the blades blows the wood chips out of the discharge port. After screening, the oversized pieces enter the crusher and are crushed. This machine has three types: few-knife, multi-knife and spiral-faced cutter.

The uniformity of the wood chips cut by the first two types is poor. The spiral-faced cutterhead type chipper has all the cutting surfaces in contact with the cutterhead during the cutting process. The unit The pressure is small, the wood chips are cut neatly, there are few wood fragments, the cutterhead wear is small, the length of the cut wood chips is consistent, and the qualified rate of cutting wood chips can reach about 97%.
